It hit 101° in my hovel today. Too hot to do anything. Even the dog is splayed out on the linoleum trying desperately to cool down, gratefully crunching ice cubes I lob in his direction. I’ve had a wet towel draped around my neck all day and a large Vornado fan blasting on its highest settings. My desk was warm enough to reheat leftovers; my computer balked and crashed, in spite of its seven interior fans, several times as I hauled stuff between Khanid and Amarr (in Eve Online, if’n ya don’t rekanize them thar places).

It’s so hot that I’m watching “50 First Dates” and “Sweet Home Alabama” without protest. And…and…cooking! Yep, yep. Corned beef and cabbage, the way we Hawaiian types like it.

OSM and the Kid, loving hot weather as they do, are only mildly offended by the triple-digit temperature. Keeping them both hydrated has been my biggest chore - followed closely by not passing out while doing the laundry.
