I miss The Kid =(

Her sixth-grade class is up at Camp Palomar. As freakin’ cold as it’s been the past couple of days there is a bunch of snow on that thar hill. I’m envious that I can’t be there to witness her first foray into the crispy cold stuff. Then again she hates cold weather and may be so miserable she refuses to venture outside. Not likely, but one can hope! Hehe.

Okay /envy off. She promised to bring me back some snow =)

Had a very nice evening with Broos and Emily a couple of nights ago, though the prime rib at Bully’s Del Mar wasn’t as stellar as usual. OSM and I spent V-Day at Yoshi Sushi which has become a favorite hangout. It’s owned by Koreans who make her favorite food and lived in Honolulu for several years. Can’t get much better than that! The owner (that’d be Yoshi) and the staff always stop by the counter to pay tribute to her - something OSM has always liked. There’s even a much younger (and very cute…damn, if I were 30 years younger…) sushi chef who makes it a habit of at least saying hi to her when she sits down. It’s a blissful experience, this being worshipped stuff. So now you can see where I get my diva tendencies =)

Here’s a pic of Mount Palomar as it appears in the San Diego Union-Tribune this morning. I can’t wait to fetch The Kid from school today and hear all about her adventures. All the peace and quiet I’ve been enjoying will be gone, gone, gone. I don’t mind. Not one bit.
