Thoughts for today

JOURNEY will always be one of my top five favorite bands. Their concert this past Saturday was spectacular. It was great to see Neal, Steve, and Jonathan again. Steve is so much more comfortable now than two years ago in his role as frontman for the group and it was a pleasure to watch him work the stage (and work the crowd into a frenzy). But the biggest change was definitely Deen, who has slimmed down and looks and sounds great!

In other news, courtesy of my friend Brett Lathrope, I’ve got a couple photos to share with you. I’m not the type to pick up a lot of things from email circles, but these photos caught my attention and did the heartstring tugging thing. Y’all who are not on Brett’s email list, feel free to click on these:

I’ve never been one to dabble in politics (that crap belongs to the other parent of my daughter) but I see these and I ask myself, “What the heck are we humans doing?”

Love each other!

Nothing really to report today, other than the fact that I am in the midst of chaos once again with two concert bookings back to back while lacking a phone-answering staffer. Have I mentioned that I dislike answering the phones at work? I get totally thrown off track.

Cyd is still quite amped from our little vacation. In retrospect, as difficult as it was, I think it was a good time for us. My computerizing was minimal (though I thank God for the laptop since I was locked in the hotel room nearly every night), her experience with the airplanes was positive, and I have learned that she has inherited my shopaholism. Hehehe! Ohgod, the teenage years…shudder.

I hope all is well with all of you. Woofoo mine, drop me a line and let me know where you went? And does anyone know how to get ahold of Greg?

Love each other!

Back to the daily grind — or maybe not.
Filed by on October 14th, 2004

It’s been a couple of days since we have been back. I think Cyd and I are on schedule again; she is throwing her usual tantrums and I am, as usual, miffed about them. It’s good to be home but I truly wish I were still away.

Believe it or not, this is a defining moment in my life. There are decisions to be made, things to be arranged, redecorating to be done, etc. A sloughing off of the past 44 years perhaps? A midlife crisis of the Ninja Doll kind? Who knows. I only know I must be in motion now. All things must change. All of them, including me.

What looms in my mind is horrifying even to me. But the choices are plainly in sight whether I like them or not, whether you like them or not. Premonitions are curses, if you didn’t already know that. I have dreamed the dreams and I have known what they meant. My sixth sense has been screaming but I have not been listening — stupidly, I have turned a deaf ear to it all. I won’t say that it was the wrong thing to do, I will say it wasn’t exactly the right thing to do.

Time to get moving.
